Meditation Therapy

Guided Imagery
Guided Imagery and Music (GI) is a psychodynamic therapy that incorporates listening in a deeply relaxed state to stimulate imagery, memories and feelings to help the client understand life issues from a holistic perspective. Once considered an "alternative" "or complementary" approach, guided imagery is now finding widespread scientific and public acceptance, and it is being used to teach psychophysiological relaxation, alleviate anxiety and depression, relieve physical and psychological symptoms, overcome health-endangering habits, resolve conflicts, help treat cancer, heart disease and help patients prepare for surgery and tolerate procedures more comfortably.

Life Guide/Coach
A life Guide allows you to examine issues of concern in a safe, supportive, confidential setting. Working with you to help you gain an understanding of how to meet the various challenges you face in your life. The Life Guide can help you clarify a situation, get in touch with your feelings around an issue, explore options and help you gather your strengths to deal with the issue. Often simply having the opportunity to fully express yourself and be deeply heard can have a profoundly positive effect on your thoughts and feelings and help you regain your confidence and balance. The emphasis being on positive thinking, overcoming limiting beliefs, achieving effective and productive exploration of life goals and accessing your own creative and imaginative reflections as a source of inspiration and life enhancement.

Cognitive Processing Techniques
CPT are techniques that treat a wide range of issues in a person’s life, from sleeping difficulties or relationship problems, low self-esteem or anxiety and depression. CBT works by changing people’s attitudes, their behavior and their thinking patterns.

Tapping or the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a new alternative therapy.
It is a form of acupressure, based on the same energy points used in traditional acupuncture to treat physical and emotional ailments. Instead of using needles, tapping with the fingertips is used to input kinetic energy onto specific meridians on the head and chest while a person thinks about their specific problem and voices positive affirmations. This combination of tapping and voicing is supposed to clear the 'emotional block' from a person's 'bioenergy system' and restores balance in the body.

Restorative Meditation
is a therapeutic meditation where you lay down and use props to support the body, encouraging deep relaxation. Using passive movements while scanning our body we let our nervous systems shift and enjoy the benefit of true rest. You will concentrate on surrendering your weight to supports and softening into mild stretches. This helps us to relieve the effects of negative stress encountered in daily life, and can be highly beneficial in times of fatigue, illness, and emotional strain. Our focus will be to calm and nurture ourselves. Music and aromatherapy enhance the experience, encouraging a total sense of letting go. The conscious relaxation techniques taught can be used at home.
